The IEEE Philadelphia Section sponsors an annual MicroMouse competition. Collegiate teams from the Philadelphia area compete in the programming and construction of an autonomous path planning robot. This robot is required to find the center of a maze from a starting "gate" at one of the corners of the maze. The maze itself is a square, grid pattern design. The walls and floor are specifically color-coded for use by the various types of sensors carried by the robots.
The rules of the competition are quite specific about competitive operation, robot qualifications, and maze qualifications.
In 1995 we came in third. In 1996 we came in second. Guess where we plan to be in 1997!!!
